In preparation for the 2016/2017 Season we are currently advertising for both a Senior Coach and a Junior Coach.  Each year the club is required to advertise and go through the application process.  Our coaches play a pivotal voluntary role to the club operating and working with players and the committee to develop and get the best out of the players and help to continue to grow the development of the club.

Selection Criteria


Applicants applying for this position must meet the following:


  1. Communication Skills: be capable of confident, clear and well directed communication building a shared purpose amongst all players.

  2. Team Work: works cooperatively with players, coaches, supporters and committee members towards the clubs common goals.

  3. Player Development: ability to work cooperatively with leaders to build on the development of a young core playing group as well as more established cricketers.





  • Implement the strategy and policies of Jacana Cricket Club.

  • Sets direction for players towards a shared commitment.

  • Develop and implement training programs that build player development and result in strong on-field performances from all senior teams.

  • Lead in the selection of players each week.

  • Develop the leadership and coaching skills of senior players.

  • Support the development of junior players.

  • Ability to coordinate on and off field cricket activities including preseason training.

  • Respectful and inclusive in dealings with all club players, members and supporters.

  • Reliable and committed.

Jacana Cricket Club is located at Jacana Reserve, Lorraine Crescent, Jacana. We are affiliated with the Victorian Turf Wicket Association (VTCA) and the North West Metro Cricket Association (NWMCA). Our club hosts both a turf pitch and a synthetic pitch.


Our Cricket Club has a proud history dating back to its formation in 1963. Throughout this time our club had won three First XI Premierships (63/63, 64/65 and 72/73) before winning our first premiership in 42 years in the most recent 2014/2015 season.


For season 2016/2017, Jacana Cricket Club aims to build on the success of 2014/2015 by strengthening the development of all teams within the club; including Men, Women and Juniors.
